✨We are a Private Studio – By Appointments Only!✨
⚠️I DO NOT ACCEPT WALK INS! Any service that requires my time and attention (including jewelry sales) will need an appointment! ❌Sorry, I do not offer emergency jewelry replacement!
⏰ I typically section off 30min session per client for 1-2 piercings on the ear.
Your piercing session includes: consultation/curation, jewelry selection, and answering questions. The actual piercing part is fast! 🙂
If you will be getting more than 3 piercings please consider booking 1 full hour (2x 30min session).
If you are booking with a friend please select SEPARATE services (ex. 2 people = 30mins each client).
For safety and healing reasons, I am only willing to do up to 4 total fresh piercings anywhere on the body + ears in a single session (1 hour total).
*Please kindly note that I am only 1 person providing all the service (consultation, piercing, jewelry change/sale, troubleshooting) so my schedule can fill up fast. I never have time for same day requests! Please consider booking early to avoid disappointment! Thank you!
The base piercing charge includes:
1x ASTM F136 (implant-grade) Titanium jewelry (plain).
Downsize backing sold separately.
💎 A curated selection of jewelry is available at extra cost if the client wants to wear something different:
We are the Asia exclusive stockist of…
- ASTM F136 Titanium (Implant-grade) selections from Quali-Ti Body Jewellery imported from UK.
- Nickel-free Solid 14k Gold selections from Buddha Jewelry Organics, Junipurr Jewelry, and Maya Jewelry imported from Canada and United States.
The exact placement of the piercing will be determined by your piercer based on your anatomy and jewelry selected, but please give a general idea of what/where you want to get pierced (ex. Ear Lobe, Helix/ Flat, Tragus, Daith, Conch, Rook, etc.) so I can provide an accurate quotation.
Some piercings such as Daith, Navel, Industrial, Rook, Forward Helix, Snug, Anti-Tragus are anatomy depending, and may not be possible on every client. Please consider an alternative piercing just in case the one you want is not suitable for your anatomy.
💍Curated Ear: I am happy to consult and help plan your dream collection! You can use photos in my portfolio or elsewhere to help you express which area/placement you like and I can work with your own personal anatomy to curate a personalised collection fitted for your ear 🙂!
Please keep in mind that piercings are an open wound! People with a large collection of piercings is usually collected over a period of time!
For safety and healing reasons, I am only willing to do up to 4 total fresh piercings anywhere on the body/ears. This is because your new piercing is basically a wound on your body. The more wounds you have, the more stress there will be on your body’s immune system as it heals the new piercings. So to promote safe and healthy healing, I don’t do more than 4 piercings per visit, and the client is also recommended to wait at least 2 months after any multi-piercing session.
⚠️You cannot sleep on the piercing as it is healing, so it may be a good idea to focus on one side of the ear when considering getting multiple cartilage piercings!
❌Piercings I do not offer: I don’t do microdermal, genital piercings, cheek piercings, surface piercings, “snake eye” horizontal tongue piercing, tongue web piercing, and other ‘experimental’ and risky piercings that I think are problematic and won’t heal well.
I prefer to do piercings that can heal successfully with many jewelry options for your future upgrades! For this reason I stay away from “experimental” placements. 👍
In accordance to Association of Professional Piercers’ standards, with maximum safety and optimal hygiene in consideration, I use a flat-back Labret stud for most piercings on the EAR (except Rook, Daith, Anti-Tragus, Snug, Orbital, Trans-Lobe, Industrial).
Trans-Lobe, Rook, Anti-Tragus, Snug, Eyebrow, Vert. Labret, Navel: Curved Barbell
Daith, Orbital, Septum, Smiley: Circular Ring (clicker) or Circular Barbell
Industrial, Nipple, Tongue, Bridge: Straight Barbell
I also use a flat-back Labret stud for initial Nostril and Lip piercings, and do not offer rings to start!
What are the benefits of using ASTM F136 Titanium over other grades of metal?
💍Titanium is a lightweight metal that is ideal for people with concerns about nickel sensitivity:
✔️ASTM F136 is the specification for the Titanium to be used for surgical implants – it is the most biocompatible material suitable for fresh and healed body piercings!
✔️The only quality recommended for use by the Association of Professional Piercers is Titanium that is certified to meet ASTM or ISO standards for surgical implant applications.
👍Implant-grade Titanium (certified ASTM F136) is completely biocompatible and is designed for long-term wear under the skin.
This is the most appropriate material available for surgical implants, and this level of quality can help piercings heal more quickly compared with other metals such as steel and lower grades of titanium.
On a molecular scale, the composition of ASTM F136 Titanium is NICKEL-FREE, and it cannot break down under the skin and release metal particles inside the body. This means that you can safely wear this material in your body for long term, and the jewelry will not leech any heavy metals into your system and the jewelry will not oxidise. You can safely wear Titanium into the shower and into the pool FOR LIFE!!
What are the consequences of using cheaper materials, such as surgical steel?
Surgical steel is unsafe for use in piercings due to its high nickel content, which can cause complications for those with a sensitivity to nickel. As many as ten per cent of the world’s population has a metal sensitivity. Surgical steel is not as tightly bound as titanium, so particles of the jewelry, including nickel, can leech into the client’s system.
👎Cheaper metals can also oxidise and stain the skin causing longterm damage.
One of the most common reasons why a piercing is very often irritated and “never heal” could be due to poor quality material. Excessive discharge and unpleasant smell is a sign of poor quality jewelry.
The jewelry I use is entirely free of nickel and made of materials approved for long-term use in the human body!
What are the benefits of using high quality gemstones over generic stones?
The shine of cheaper quality gems comes from a laying foil laid underneath a rhinestone to enhance its sparkle. They are easily scratched, become dull and colourless over time and, due to the use of glue to set them, often fall out completely.
👍I only carry brands that use high-quality stones like Swarovski crystals elements and semi-precious stones, carefully set using prong or bezel settings, to ensure the jewelry can be used continuously for many years!
🔩What is Internally Threaded / Threadless Jewelry?🔩
⭕️ All of our Titanium jewelry is Internally Threaded – rotate clockwise to tighten, and anticlockwise to release. “Righty tighty, Lefty loosey”. This type is more secure, but can also be more difficult for the client to change themselves.
⭕️ All of our Gold jewelry is Threadless – push pin style, push into the stem to secure and twist + pull to release. This type is easier for the client to manipulate, but can also be accidentally pulled out.
❌ We do not encourage the use of Externally Threaded jewelry because the bumpy threading on the outside of the stem can be “scratchy” and scrape the piercing channel when changing jewelry. The threading on the outside can also harbour bacteria, and push contaminates inside the piercing channel when changing jewelry. This type is often sold at mall kiosks and commonly used by piercers that are less experienced and not certified.
🔱‼️ DOWNSIZE POLICY ‼️🔱
Swelling Reduction (approx): Ear Lobe (6-8 weeks), Helix/ Flat/ F.Helix/ Conch/ Tragus/ Industrial (2-3months), Tongue (6-8 weeks), Lip (2-3months), Nipple (4-6months), the client is encouraged to come back for a Downsize / Check Up session for us to downsize the original jewelry; changing it from the original long version, down to a shorter and more fitted size.
👍The client is allowed to change the jewelry to their own after the piercing is fully recovered – when the skin feels normal, with no soreness and no sensitivity!
⭕️The base piercing charge includes 1x basic ASTM F136 Titanium jewelry (Initial long size).
⭕️Client is responsible for contacting and booking the check up session.
⭕️Downsized post is extra cost – $200 hkd each ASTM F136 Titanium backing (Short bar).
⭕️Front design/ Titanium ball is reused, or the client is welcome to purchase a different jewelry design.
Gold by nature is a precious material so the cost of using Gold jewelry will be pricier than Titanium. Even though Gold is more costly, the benefit of using genuine Gold jewelry is that some manufactures will offer an individual warranty.
Please note that the replacement jewelry will be offered by the same company (as the defective one). The replacement jewelry will be the same design, style, size and colour. If the same replacement is not possible, a store credit of equal value will be issued. Sorry, no monetary refunds!
“We guarantee our solid gold ends and clickers of any manufacturer defects for life. We will replace any broken items at our discretion or issue you a store credit if we are not able to exchange.”
“We offer a lifetime warranty on all our jewelry. This applies to any defects in materials and workmanship.”
“All Maya Jewelry are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty for 6 months from date of purchase.”
❓WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW WHEN GETTING PIERCED FOR THE FIRST TIME?❓
All my piercings are performed by hand with a single-use surgical needle. Using a single needle-prick can be more precise, allowing for extremely accurate angles and more aesthetically pleasing curations.
Piercing needles are sharp and cause the least amount of damage when pushed through the skin. They glide through while creating a smooth channel for the jewelry to settle in, and assisting your body in adapt to and healing a “fistula” around the jewelry. This reduces irritation and scarring so your piercing can heal properly and stay healthy.
Piercing needles are surgically designed to glide thru the skin – this method is definitely LESS PAINFUL than gunned piercings!!
You can see the piercing gun stud looks pointy but they are NOT sharp at all.
When this blunt stud is forced through the ear with the spring-loaded gun, it is basically smashing thru the ear! It is very painful and causes blunt force trauma. This trauma can lead to a large amount of damage especially in the cartilage, resulting in keloid scarring, persistent irritation, constant oozing, prolonged discomfort… basically the piercing never truly healing. A fistula will not properly form, and even years later, jewelry changes can still cause bleeding and discomfort. This is because the channel (fistula) cannot fully form from blunt force trauma.
It’s obvious today that being pierced using a piercing gun is unsafe and can cause significant damage to the tissue!
🩹DO PIERCINGS HURT?🩹
💆🏻♀️I direct the client to do a deep breathing motion: (“Take a Deep Breath in….”/ “Slowly Breathe out…”) during the piercing process to help the client focus attention on their breathing.
This makes the the process feel more natural and helps reduce discomfort!
🌬Most piercings are completed within a “breathing in and breathing out” motion.
Remember that piercing needles are surgically designed to glide thru the skin! This method creates the smoothest incision and least amount of trauma!
Treat your new piercing like it is a fresh open wound!
General Recovery (approx): Ear Lobes (6-8 weeks), Ear Cartilage (6 months+), Septum/ Tongue (6-8 weeks), Lip/ Nostril/ Navel/ Nipple (6 months+).
Please note that recovery time is only suggested because factors like lifestyle and aftercare can affect the healing duration.
⚠️DO NOT TOUCH/ DO NOT TWIST/ DO NOT ROTATE / DO NOT PLAY WITH YOUR NEW PIERCING!!
⚠️A fresh piercing is an open wound. Basic “wound treatment” should be considered, for example:
⚠️Initial bruising and bleeding is normal and to be expected! Please keep in mind I am penetrating your skin with a sharp needle. It is a deep puncture wound, so the site will take longer time to recover than your typical surface wounds.
⚠️Anything that comes in contact with your new piercing needs to be clean. This includes YOUR HANDS (!!!), cellphones, pillowcase, headphone, ear buds… anything that touches your piercing needs to be clean! Pets and children should not touch your new piercing.
⚠️You should not immediately go swimming after getting a piercing!
⚠️Piercings are semi-permanent. Your skin is elastic, and it is in a constant state of regeneration. Even a well healed piercing can risk closing or blockage when left empty without jewelry.
⚠️PIERCINGS ARE ANATOMY DEPENDANT! For a piercing to heal successfully, careful consideration of the client’s anatomy AND using appropriate sized+shaped jewelry is very important!
For clients that cannot get a “traditional” type of (Navel, Snug, Industrial) piercing, there are very excellent alternatives to consider:
⚠️Piercings are not for everyone! Even the best jewelry, by the best piercer, and even if aftercare is followed exactly… Not all piercings can be successful… as inserting an object into our body is not a natural process! Our bodies are constantly changing, growing, and renewing, and as organic beings, our bodies will sometimes detect these “unnatural” objects inside our bodies and try to expel them. This process is called rejection. Rejection can happen naturally, at any time, even after the piercing is well healed for years. Rejection can happen more often to piercings that constantly get tugged or snagged, like navel piercings.
Selecting a trusted and experienced piercer can help reduce the chances of rejection by positioning the piercing accurately, along with using jewelry that is biocompatible and measured precisely for each anatomy to help reduce irritation.
⚠️“Migration” can occur, which is when a piercing’s position is moved or shifted from its original position. Migration happens most often on Helix Piercings, especially if the client sleeps on the piercing while it is healing. We can always tell if the client sleeps on the piercing!!
⚠️It is extremely important the client cannot sleep on the healing piercing!!
Prolonged excessive pressure (sleeping, hats, helmet, headphones etc.) can make the piercing heal crooked and change the angle, which will make the piercing impossible to wear a ring comfortably!
⚠️Clients that wish to get Cartilage piercings on both ears will be strongly encouraged to sleep on their backs OR they can focus collecting on a single ear, until the other piercings are more comfortable to handle.
⚠️Ear Lobe Piercings: You can change into your own jewelry after the piercing feels like normal skin again, with no soreness and no sensitivity to the touch. Usually after 6-8 weeks with recommended aftercare. Ear Lobes are the only exception that can be safely pierced on both sides at same time, because the skin heals faster than cartilage.
⚠️When your piercing is healing, your skin will undergo some visible changes. In the beginning week, the piercing area will begin to swell. It will be sore to the touch, and there will be some localised redness, and maybe some bruising too.
*Bleeding is also very common and to be expected because I am cutting a hole in your skin!
⚠️Due to the initial swelling that will happen to your skin – the new piercing will first need to wear a longer post (backing) – this is intended to help accommodate swelling.
⚠️To assist in the last stages of healing, we strongly encourage the client to schedule a piercing check up session for us to assess the halfway point of recovery, and check if a downsize of the jewelry is needed. Click here to learn more on downsizing…
⚠️Infection and Irritation are not the same, and they have different solutions. Click here to learn more on Infection vs Irritation…
The most important focus when caring for your piercing is hygiene. Try your best to keep the area as clean as possible, away from contamination and irritants. If you need to touch the piercing site, only do so with clean hands!!
Your body will do most of the recovery work, so staying healthy is actually the most important! Keep up with your vitamins, and keep up with your sleep.
⚠️Because a fresh piercing is basically an open wound, keeping the piercing site clean and free from contamination will prevent bacterial infections.
Clients that are experienced with piercings can develop their own aftercare routine best suited for themselves, but generally the idea is to always keep the piercing site clean and free from bacteria.
Leave your piercing alone, and don’t touch it unless you are cleaning the piercing!
I recommend a two-step process of using a cleanser in the shower to degrease and clean the piercing site, and then also use a saline solution to irrigate/flush the piercing site.
Recommended cleanser would be an anti-bacterial product that has no alcohol and no fragrance. I recommend the client use a cleanser to degrease the skin around the piercing to remove any discharge and buildup by gently cleaning around the site.
I suggest using a 🧼CLEANSER in the shower to topically clean the surrounding skin around the piercing. I suggest using a cleanser that has no alcohol and no fragrance. (You can check my Aftercare Guide for a picture suggestion). You do not need to remove the jewelry! Do not rotate the jewelry!
🚿IN THE SHOWER: Using a soapy cleanser + your finger’s gentle touch, lather away surface sebum, dead skin accumulation, dried discharge, make up, etc.
⚠️In addition to using a cleanser, the client can also add an additional step into their cleaning routine to help with management of the swelling phase:
🥛Sea Salt Soak / Saline Soak (morning + night) Hold for 3-5 mins.
💦Saline is very gentle and its mild properties will help soothe irritations and help reduce swelling. The focus is to envelop the entire piercing site under the saline, so the solution can penetrate into the piercing channel and flush out irritants. This can also help dissolve away dried matter, and help irrigate hard to reach piercings (Daith, Forward Helix, Rook, Nostril and Septum piercings should always use this method).
💦NeilMed Piercing Aftercare is a sterile Saline Solution spray that can be used to conveniently irrigate and flush the piercing. Great to keep in your purse or school bag to clean on the go. This is an easy alternative to the soaking method. (Due to the nozzle tip, Septum and Nostril Piercings should always use Soaking method)
WHAT CAN I DO WHEN MY PIERCING IS IRRITATED?
When your piercing is irritated, the best way to soothe that issue is to do a Saline Soak (as explained in my Aftercare Guide). Even piercings that are well healed can sometimes flair up if cleaning has stopped. Depending on location, you can choose to use NeilMed Piercing Aftercare (sold by me) or follow my suggested Saline Soak/ Sea Salt Soak.
CAN YOU HELP ME WITH A PIERCING DONE BY SOMEBODY ELSE?
Please understand that an irritated piercing can be due to a number of different reasons. Because the original piercing was not done by me, I may not be able to comment on your situation with certainty. If the original piercing was done improperly such as incorrect position or angle, changing the jewelry won’t solve the issue. I charge a basic service fee of $300 hkd when troubleshooting piercings not done by me. The cost does not include jewelry and aftercare products. My service fee also applies to jewelry installs on piercings not done by me. If a needle is used to reopen a blocked/ closed piercing, this process is the same as a fresh piercing procedure so full piercing charge applies.
